Two teams from the ongoing DSP App Development training – “Druk Tour and Pay” and “De-coder” participated with 18 other teams in the Hackathon Challenge organized by the Department of Employment and Entrepreneurship, MOLHR.
The DSP teams worked for two weeks after their training sessions to compete in the Hackathon. The themes were Education, Tourism, Construction and Health.
Druk Tour and Pay pitched a tourism app idea to create a tourist portal to Bhutan bringing 300,000 tourists to one app.
Druk Tour presented the tourism app which would solve the payment inconveniences travelers had in Bhutan by offering a digital wallet for tourists so they could spend more during their leisure time and including a Augmented Reality feature to bring engagement and fun in tourist sights. They also proposed to a community feature section on the App to share folklore, history and information on local products.
Druk Tour and Pay found two potential partners in Yangphel Adventure Travel and Royal Securities Exchange of Bhutan who are also interested in the tourism app idea.
Team De-coder’s idea was to develop an education app to create a dynamic and intuitive learning mobile app platform.
Team De-coder presented the education app which would provide effective, customized and quality learning contents through a personalized and adaptive learning system.
De-suup Tenzin Tshering from Druk Tour and Pay team said that for both the teams, taking part in the hackathon event was a great experience to explore and be exposed to wonderful ideas from the other participants.
The DSP training on App Development ends next month. Trashi Delek to our De-suups from DSP App Development and Mr. Casper Bodewitz!
