Basic Military Training (BMT)

BMT patch1

The Pilot Basic Military Training, as the name suggests is conducted with a holistic aim to pilot the BMT program and related aspects of the program designed for the Gyalsung Training and to draw lessons necessary for improving the program. As the Gyalsung’s Pilot BMT is conducted under the guardianship of the De-Suung Training as its 56th Batch of training, this program also has a parallel objective of producing a Battalion strength of specially-trained capable Desuups.

The Pilot Basic Military Training Curriculum shall consist of programs and courses that will ensure an orderly transition of the Trainees from civilian life to military life. It shall be a three-and-a-half-month program comprising Basic Military Training, National Education and Life Skills lessons which will equip the trainees with the essential skills and knowledge to instill a sense of discipline and patriotism.

The Training Curriculum shall majorly consist of the drill, physical fitness, psychological conditioning, basic tactics and operations of war, weapon training, military discipline and etiquette leadership and other subjects related to military life. The BMT will be followed by half a month National Education and Life Skills program.

The training is meticulously planned and well organized for effective conduct. During this stage, the basic foundation of soldering is laid and built. The successful moulding of youth into disciplined Gyalsups, in this case, into disciplined Desuups or citizens, will to a large extent depend on the quality of the training, and social and moral values taught to them during the Basic Military Training.
