Vacancy for Helpline Responder (1100 and 1098)

The Pema Secretariat as nodal agency under the leadership of Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen, gives this opportunity for De-suups to apply for the availability of 6 slots for the Post of Helpline Responders (1100 and 1098). The   De-suups will be managing to guide and handle calls related to mental health, child and gender-based issues.

Preference will be given to those De-suups who have experience in Counselling and Mental Health Courses.

Job Details

  1. Position title: Helpline Responder
  2. Position level: S-5A
  3. Promotion: Performance based
  4. Place of posting: The PEMA Secretariat, Thimphu
  5. Report to: Supervisor, Head of Response Services
  6. Employment type: On contract
  7. Work Hours: 8 hours shift in rotation (morning, evening and night)

Qualification and Requirements:

  1. Minimum class 12 pass (all stream)
  2. Security clearance
  3. Clean employment history if previously employed.

  5. Computer literate and capable of managing computer files, using databases, creating

spreadsheets, and preparing presentations.

  2. Ability to prioritize work under pressure, extend work overtime when necessary
  3. Sound knowledge of various services related to mental health, child protection, gender

based violence, substance use issues and other psychosocial services.

  1. Ability to refer and link callers to the most relevant service provider.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Receive calls and determine the type of cases and conduct preliminary assessment of cases in order to determine the urgency of their need and nature of support required.
  2. Facilitate linkages to service providers (counselor / Protection officer / other emergency responders)
  3. Respond to the needs of cases as per the Standard Operating Procedures of 1010 and 1098.
  4. Provide brief mental health interventions.
  5. Answer to inquiries, clarify doubts and provide required information.
  6. Mobilize ambulances for emergency cases and manage crisis situations.
  7. Activate police for calls related to active violence and manage crises.
  8. Record required details of the calls and callers in the forms provided
  9. Seek guidance and supervision for the supervisor.
  10. Ensure that equipment is operational.

 Renumeration

Gross Salary: 28,805 (Basic- 13575.00 + allowance including house rent)
