Today, His Eminence Leytshog Lopen Rinpoche graced the launch of the program.
Leytshog Lopen Sangay Dorji said that this program would help DeSuups to fully live up to their Desuung Honour Code and serve with utmost dedication and loyalty, perform their duties from the heart and realize His Majesty The King’s dearest hope that everyone is well taken care of and looked after.
DSP Steering Committee Members, Lyonpo Tashi Dorji, Zimpon Wom Sonam Thinley and Hon’ble Kesang Chuki Dorjee were also present.
15 Desuups are undergoing the one month programme at Nyinzergang Lhakhang at Babesa.
Dasho Tshering Wangchuk, DSP Steering Committee Member graced the opening as the Chief Guest.
Dasho Tshering Wangchuk said that after the DSP, if Desuups are able to stand on their own two feet, they would be able to meet the objective of the training and fulfill His Majesty’s wishes of becoming gainfully employed or successful entrepreneurs.
19 DeSuups who had previously completed the Monastic Robes and Western garments trainings are participating in the 3 months course.
The trainees will be taught at Lekdrup Skills Development Institute, Thimphu.

The Steering Committee Members also attended the official opening of the Garuda Bar and Cafe today.
This bartending beverage center operated by the DeSuups who completed the first batch of DSP Skilling.
It is located at Hotel Reaso, Changjalu and will be open to the public from Wednesday, May 4.
