Since the launch of the De-suung National Service Project on 11 November 2020, the De-suups have made commendable progress in first pilot water project at Guma Gewog in Punakha.

Following the introductory briefing and orientation to the project sites, the team comprising of 76 volunteers have completed the layout of approximately 12 kms of water transmission main pipeline.

On the fifth day, De-suups completed 270 m of trenching works for the transmission main pipeline. Wherever feasible, mechanization and use of modern technology is being explored to enhance efficiency.

In addition to the focus on infrastructure building, the De-suups will continue to receive practical on-the job-training. They also receive Occupational Health and Safety training to ensure that highest standards are observed for work place safety.

The learning outcome from the pilot projects will be used to further improve the De-suung National Service deployment plans for future projects.
